When connecting your underfloor heating to your system you will need to establish what sort of system you have.

  • S Plan System
    S Plan means you have 2 x 2 port valves 1 for heating 1 for hot water these will be located in your cylinder cupboard after your pump.

If you have a S Plan System you will not require anything else

 

  • Y Plan System
    Y Plan means you have 1 x 3 port valve (mid position valve) 1 for Flow from the boiler then 1 side will feed hot water cylinder and the other side will feed Radiators this will be located in your cylinder cupboard after your pump. Below are 2 different ways to connect your underfloor heating to a Y Plan System.

You will be connecting your underfloor heating as a 3rd zone.

  1. Radiator Heating
  2. Hot water
  3. Underfloor Heating

 Additional Components Required

If you have a Y Plan System you will need an additional Zone Valve to control your radiators from the Heating side of the 3 Port Valve.
