For a long time direct hot water systems like underfloor heating have stayed on the fringes of mainstream, the step up costs and the work required to install the system have put some peoples off and for a while it was considered to be a luxury used inexpensive properties or in football stadiums to help control the conditions of the pitch.
Over the years this has changed drastically and underfloor heating systems can now be installed in practically any home with ease, in conjunction with any new or existing central heating system at a fraction of the cost.
Underfloor heating systems work by embedding a network of pipes into the construction of the flooring, this is then filled with hot water, which effectively turns the surface area of your floor into a radiator. To ensure that all of the heat energy is directed to your flooring a layer of reflective insulation is installed underneath the piping. The pipes are then connected to a mixing manifold which is then in turn connected to your existing heating system. An underfloor heating system requires water at a lower temperature to operate than a conventional radiator based heating system. The mixing manifold helps to control the temperature of your system by managing the amount of hot water that passes through the system. Both of these factors combine to create a system that reduces your running costs whilst simultaneously increasing the productivity of your system.
