Is Underfloor Heating expensive to run?

Wet underfloor heating systems are usually cheap to run and can cost less than radiators, especially in a well-insulated home.

Underfloor heating systems are significantly more efficient than a traditional radiator systems. Radiators need water heated to high temperatures (around 70°C to 80°C) to effectively warm a room, which demands significant energy from your boiler.

In contrast, underfloor heating covers a much larger surface area, and only needs water heated to a mild 29°C to achieve the same comfortable room temperature. This substantial drop in required temperature means your heat source works less, consuming less fuel and lowering your energy bills.

Furthermore, it distributes heat evenly across the entire room, eliminating cold spots and energy-wasting drafts.

Actual running costs depend on insulation, energy prices, and how the system is used.
